About Our Conference
The Western Inter-University Geoscience Conference (WIUGC) is a student-led event that brings together geoscience students from across Western Canada for learning, connection, and professional development.
Now in its 59th year, WIUGC will be hosted by the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg from January 9–12, 2026. The conference features technical presentations by students and industry professionals, field trips, networking opportunities, and an industry fair with companies from across Canada.
Whether you're presenting research, exploring career paths, or connecting with peers, WIUGC offers a welcoming space to engage with the geoscience community.
